Openbox 5.x Notes

Supported devices: ML350 128GB – 1TB SSD. Single or Dual NIC.

Technical Operation

***Always*** change the default passwords. (forces password reset on first run displaying a red warning message in player dashboard until reset)

– Ensure there is unobstructed airflow above the Fanless AlertPlayer. Never place any objects on top of the unit.

BIOS Settings

During boot, ESC brings up bios.  Ensure “Resume AC Power” is enabled. 

Imaging Fresh Computer

Download and Copy ISO IMG file to usb stick with startup disk creator Etcher, Rufus or GNOME Disks.

Attach a Monitor, Keyboard and Network cable. Ensure no other USB devices are plugged in.

Plug USB stick into the USB 3.0 port (Blue) of computer

Turn on computer.  At initial splash screen, press ESC button to enter BIOS

Using Keyboard arrow buttons. move to menu at far right, then down arrow to move to boot override “UEFI USB”

Press enter and computer will boot to this USB and begin CloneZilla automatic IMG restore.

Process will automatically go through to prompt “Y” twice to continue.

At end of process, remove USB and power cycle computer

Post Install Instructions for OpenBox

After imaging on first run; login, find OpenBox IP.

  1. On separate workstations 1st run OBServer updates. http://<ip_of_openbox/updates Enter “updates” for when prompted for user and password. Apply all updates.
  2. Now you may login to the OBServer management dashboard that is defaulted on port 80. http://<ip_of_openbox/ You will be prompted for administrator password (Supplied in separate email)
  3. AlertPlayer is installed. The dashboard may be reached on default port 23233. http://<ip_of_openbox:23233 using default admin/admin as user and password. Apply all updates.
